Who We Are
We are Ethiopia - Life Overflowing, established in 2016 from YWAM Perth, Australia. We began and exist to know God and make Him known.
How It Began
Originally a team of four from Australia, New Zealand, France, and America, we arrived in Addis Ababa on February 1st, 2016 with little understanding, no language and minimal experience, and saw God begin to open doors. Our founder, Amy Tefera (on the far right), who received our original vision for Ethiopia from the Lord, now lives in Australia with her husband and two children.
Where We Are Now
We have run Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) most years since we began, and have hosted many international teams who have come to complete their DTS outreaches here in Addis, or other cities and rural areas of Ethiopia. More than five years later we have become a much more Ethiopian (Habesha) team, and are looking to expand, become more international, and get more ministry going. We are a bilingual base, and most of our trainings and schools are run in English and Amharic. Our YWAM base is also a part of the University of the Nations. The Future
We have prayed and prayed for our precious Ethiopia, and believe God is calling her to be a lighthouse to her surrounding nations, a heart beating life into them. We are interested in reaching out to the strong places in Ethiopia, as well as beyond her borders to reach different parts of the world. We are trusting God to see trained Ethiopian missionaries sent out to the surrounding nations to share the love of God, as we believe God has called Ethiopia to be a lighthouse! We also plan to begin running second level schools, more trainings, and children's ministry The base is located in Ayer Tena, a far corner of the city that needs the love of God.
